Maxwell isn’t making a comeback with just a trio of new albums. The neo-soul dreamboat is setting sail on his “BLACKsummers’night Tour” this summer, kicking off June 17 at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, Mich. The 25-date stint continues through the end of July and makes stops at the BET Music Awards in L.A. on June 28 and on July 4 at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

Tickets for the Grand Rapids and Vancouver shows go on sale today (May 22). Many others go up tomorrow and in the following week.

As previously reported, the July 7 release of “BLACKsummers’night” via Columbia will mark Maxwell’s first album since 2001. The set from that year, “Now,” went straight to No. 1 on The Billboard 200. The singer plans to release two more albums, one next year and one the next, imaginatively titled “blackSUMMERS’night” and “blacksummers’NIGHT,” respectively.
