Melissa McCarthy rips ‘Ghostbusters’ haters: ‘Find a friend’

Melissa McCarthy has something to say to all the Ghostbusters reboot haters (of which there are many): Get some perspective.

In an interview with The Guardian, McCarthy was clearly frustrated with those bashing the movie on social media sites, this despite the fact that Ghostbusters won”t even be in theaters for more than a month.

“All those comments – ‘You”re ruining my childhood!” I mean, really,” McCarthy said. “Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood? I have a visual of those people…not having friends, so they”re just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the Internet. I just hope they find a friend.”

The Ghostbusters trailer hasn”t been getting a lot of love online. The video is reportedly the most disliked movie promo in YouTube history with more than 850,000 “Thumbs Down” to date. Interestingly, McCarthy has also expressed her discontent with the trailer, calling it “very confusing.” But she never said anything about her childhood being damaged as a result.

Ghostbusters features McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. It”s slated for a July 15 release.
