Music Festival MVPs: These artists are playing the most U.S. fests this summer

Every weekend this summer, there is a music festival scheduled to go down in some corner of North America.

For touring bands, fests can be a welcome pause in the middle of seasonal slog. For many artists, for instance, there's a money guarantee; it's a high profile opportunity; it's daytime or early nighttime work and a good hangout with other artists for the rest of the stay. It can be regular pay.

While many more artists are playing regional and local fest and event lineups, there are some acts that are playing a LOT of national and mainstream music festivals.

In the gallery below, we outline some of the artists that are playing a half dozen or more of these North American festivals, and crown the MVPs.

Bassnectar, Kendrick Lamar, Florence + The Machine, Ben Harper, Alabama Shakes, The Black Keys: which among them do you think is playing the very most? Listen to some new tunes and decide which are the highest on your own must-see list.
