Chevy Chase must have enjoyed time on “Chuck.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chase has been set to co-star in NBC’s “Community,” a comedy pilot that could become his first regular primetime series gig.

“Community” is being described as “Stripes” in a community college setting. Joel McHale was previously cast in the comedy’s main role as a lawyer forced to go back to school when his college degree is invalidated. The trade paper says that Chase will play another student at the community college, saying only that his character has been married five times.

Chase won a pair of Emmys as one of the original Not Ready For Primetime Players on “Saturday Night Live” and was one of the biggest movie stars of the ’80s, with hits including “Caddyshack,” “Fletch” and the “Vacation” movies.

In recent years, he’s popped up as a TV guest star on “Law & Order,” “Brothers & Sisters” and in an upcoming multi-episode arc on “Chuck.”
