We”re almost a year away from “Doctor Strange” hitting theaters, and filming is still in full swing – but Marvel is already giving fans their first look at Benedict Cumberbatch in his full Sorcerer Supreme regalia!

Along with this cover photo, Entertainment Weekly also snagged an interview with Cumberbatch himself and promises the issue will reveal the roles played by Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen. What”s more interesting? This photoshoot took place so early in production that Cumberbatch hadn”t quite worked out what to do with his hands while flinging magical spells.

“I”m still in the infancy of learning all that. It was like, okay, I”ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I”m thinking, there”s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I”m still working on that. We haven”t played any of those scenes yet.”

It sounds like Cumberbatch learned well from his time in the “Sherlock” and “Star Trek” trenches that no detail is too small for fans to obsess over.

“Doctor Strange” arrives in theaters on November 4, 2016.
