Surprise! Melissa McCarthy figured out a way to get in on the ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival

Just about a week after I wrote that Melissa McCarthy “will almost definitely not be in Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival,” McCarthy announced that, oh yeah, she's totally going to be in Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival.

McCarthy was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new movie The Boss, and said she had a “really exciting” announcement: as of an hour and a half before the show's taping, she was able to carve out room in her schedule to appear on the show.

“Amy Sherman-Palladino's gonna squeeze me in to do it,” McCarthy said.

She didn't get into what the whole deal was with her not being asked back (or being asked back but the message not being passed on to her from her people) in the first place, but who cares now? Sookie is coming back to Stars Hollow for probably like five seconds and Gilmore fans couldn't be happier.
