The Hollywood Reporter recently ran an in-depth piece about the current state of the relationship between Legendary Pictures, Universal, and Warner Brothers.
One significant piece of news for fans of Guillermo del Toro”s giant Jaeger vs. Kaiju extravaganza “Pacific Rim” was that the planned sequel had been put on hold, and may be cancelled altogether.
The director has since gone of record with EW saying that he”s moving forward with the project. “We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks,” del Toro told the outlet. “As far as I'm concerned, it's not gone. We're still on it. It moved further. I may do another movie in the middle.”
We”re pulling for del Toro, who has such unabashed passion for cinematic storytelling. The current circumstances also inspired us to ask the question: “If you could only pick one Guillermo del Toro movie to go into production, what would it be?”
