LOS ANGELES – A lot of people thought Patton Oswalt did a fine job of hosting the 2014 Independent Spirit Awards yesterday (March 1), so maybe Oscars organizers should pay attention: the comedian said he'd be game for hosting the Academy Awards, too.
“I don't think they'd ever ask me,” Oswalt told HitFix from the Spirits red carpet yesterday. “I'd host it in a second.”
Oswalt also intimated that he might not want to return to MCing the independent film show again next year. “I don't think they should have the same host every year.”
Andy Samberg hosted the 2013 Spirits honors, and, frankly, Marc Maron said he'd be up for the task in 2015. So another note to you, IFC.
