Richard Armitage on the nostalgia surrounding the release of final ‘Hobbit’ movie

At this past weekend”s WonderCon, HitFix got the chance to talk to Richard Armitage about the upcoming-and final-“Hobbit” movie, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” (formerly known as “The Hobbit: There and Back Again”).  The British actor plays Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the dwarves whom Bilbo accompanies in Peter Jackson”s trilogy.

As Armitage points out in the interview, this film is set to be the final big screen trip to Middle Earth for the foreseeable future, and the sixth total film in the series.  Jackson, of course, has already directed the highly acclaimed “Lord of the Rings” trilogy prior to working on “The Hobbit.”

Click on the video, we promise you it”s brief, and check out what Armitage thinks about the final movie”s release and what he is most looking forward to in “Battle of the Five Armies.”

“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” is set to arrive in theaters on December 17th.
