Robert Downey Jr. says ‘yes’ to ‘Iron Man 4’

With Marvel Studios planning approximately 300 movies over the next five years, Robert Downey Jr. has been cagey about the possibility of “Iron Man 4” being one of them.

Just last month, he was quoted as saying, “There is no plan for 'Iron Man 4.'”

But things change, especially when billions of dollars are at stake, as fans found out on today's episode of “Ellen.”

When host Ellen Degeneres asked RDJ about part 4, he tried to be vague, saying, “…there's gonna be a bunch more Marvel movies and they have big ideas of how to do it best. And we're in the middle of negotiations…”

Ellen interrupted with, “so, yes,” with the actor conceded, “OK, yes.”

Watch the clip here:

Downey's previous Marvel contract only extended to “Iron Man 3,” and two “Avengers” sequels, but it's unknown if the most recent negotiations will include any other potential films beyond “Iron Man 4.”

Whatever the story and cast of the fourth film will entail, Downey will no doubt make a killing from it; the actor reportedly netted some $50 million from “The Avengers” alone.

2013's “Iron Man 3” was written and directed by Shane Black and grossed $1.2 billion worldwide.

Downey will next be seen as Iron Man in 2015's “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” but first he'll appear opposite Robert Duvall in this month's drama “The Judge.”

What do you want to see in “Iron Man 4”?
