Spider-Man: Homecoming begins production, get a look at the first photo from set

Fans got their first glimpse of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and the large majority were delighted and left anxious to see him in his first solo outing, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Well we're one step closer. Production on the film officially began in Atlanta, Georgia today and to commemorate the occasion Holland himself teased out the first image from set on his personal Instagram account.

The Jon Watts-directed film features an impressive cast that includes Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Michael Keaton as (we believe) the villainous Vulture, the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark, Zendaya as a friend of Peter Parker's named Michelle, Logan Marshall-Green as an additional villain, and Donald Glover, Martin Starr and more in yet-to-be revealed roles.

Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has said that the film will feature many characters from the MCU in a story that is ultimately about Peter figuring out who is is, now that he is also Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
