Marvel mystery solved. Stan Lee reveals favorite superhero movie

He”s the mind behind some of Marvel“s most beloved characters. He”s created such famed superheroes as Iron Man, the Hulk, Spider-Man, and the Fantastic Four. But with so many of these comic book heroes getting their turn on the big screen, one must wonder which of these Marvel flicks is Stan Lee”s favorite. Now we have an answer.

During a recent Q&A on his Facebook page, Lee was asked which film adaptation he liked best.

“I think my favorite comic book movie was the first one that was such a hit, the first Spider-Man,” Lee said.

It”s hard to argue with Lee here. The film, which starred Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst scored 89 percent “Fresh” on RottenTomatoes.com with reviews like Richard Roeper”s, who called it an “energetic romp.” From a financial standpoint it was a huge hit too. The movie made an inflation-adjusted $1.1 billion and spawned two follow ups with Maguire in the title role as well as two more with Andrew Garfield as the webbed wonder.

The next round of Spider-Man movies, this time starring Tom Holland as the title character, starting with Spider-Man: Homecoming, is slated for a July 2017 release.
