‘Star Wars’: Han Solo’s jacket goes up for auction

There are Star Wars collectables and then there”s this.

Fans of the sci-fi epic now have a chance to own a piece of intergalactic movie history as Han Solo”s jacket from Star Wars: The Force Awakens is hitting the auction block. But this sort of memorabilia won”t come cheap, as the minimum bid for the coat, which comes with an autograph from Han (Harrison Ford) himself, is $34,000. Proceeds from the sale, on IfOnly.com, benefit NYU Langone Center and FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures). The deadline to place a bid is April 11.

The 73-year-old Ford reprised his role as the captain of the Millennium Falcon in 2015″s The Force Awakens. He first piloted the ship nearly 40 years ago in the original Star Wars and then was featured in two sequels, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

This isn”t the last leather coat Ford will be wearing on the big screen. It was recently announced that he”ll soon be back playing his other iconic role, Indiana Jones in the series fifth installment. That film is set to hit theaters in 2019.
