British thespian Jamie Campbell Bower has reportedly be cast in one of the key small roles in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

According to BBC News, Bower will play Caius, part of the key triumvirate that controls the Volturi, the Italian vampire clan responsible for keeping bloodsucking order.

Caius is introduced in “New Moon,” but the character plays a bigger and more crucial role in “Eclipse” and then “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth book of Stephenie Meyer’s series.

Bower would j
oin Dakota Fanning, who was previously cast as powerful Volturi guard, Jane. Several other Volturi roles have yet to be cast, though Bower tells the BBC that he knows who will be playing them. Tease.

Production has already begun on  “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which will open on Nov. 20, 2009. Bower’s shooting will begin in June.

After a brief pause to recharge, production will then begin on the franchise’s third installment, “Eclipse,” which has staked out a June 30, 2010 release date.

Stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are set to return for both films.

Bower is probably most familiar to audiences from his supporting turn in “Sweeney Todd” (you’d remember him as the young male who could actually sing). He’ll next be seen in AMC’s reimagining of “The Prisoner.”
