Taylor Swift announces lengthy North American tour

Taylor Swift is ready to hit the road in support of her smash hit album “Red” in 2013.

The singer announced her major North American tour on Friday night’s ABC special “All Access Nashville with Katie Couric – A Special Edition of 20/20.”

Dubbed “The Red Tour,” the trek will find Swift playing 58 shows in 45 cities in 29 states and 3 provinces next spring and summer.

Things get started with a two-night stand in Omaha on March 13, with Swift winding her way across the U.S. and Canada until wrapping things up at home in Nashville, where she’ll play three consecutive nights. Along the way, Swift will hit dozens of cities, including multi-night stands in St. Louis, L.A., Newark, Atlanta, St. Paul, Orlando and more.

Singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, who duets with Swift on the song “Everything Has Changed,” is scheduled to be a “special guest” at all of the shows.

“I didn”t think I could be any more excited about my ‘Red’ album, but then I start thinking about how I”m going to put the new show together for The Red Tour,” says Taylor. “I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can”t wait to share the new show with all my fans!?
