The ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ soundtrack literally gives away the whole movie

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is getting very close to its release date. For months, fans have been trying to piece together the breadth and depth of this film. How much of the Justice League will make a cameo? Is this character the real villain? Just how much of plot is dedicated to the fight between Batman and Superman?

True answers are still a month out. HOWEVER. Beginning today you can pre-order the Batman v Superman soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL. Which means we now have all the title tracks, in their vaguely spoilery glory. So what can we infer from these 18 tracks? Let”s find out!

#18: Fight Night (Bonus Track)

Okay let”s speed through this breakdown. ‘Beautiful Lie” is probably a reference to Lex Luthor”s speech to the senator that the oldest lie in America is that power can be innocent. ‘Their War Here” definitely seems to be about the day Superman and Zod destroyed Wayne Enterprises (and half of Metropolis). ‘The Red Capes Are Coming” is just a sad reminder of the movie”s most ridiculous line. WHY? Let”s say ‘Day of the Dead” is all about Batman”s fever dream of a world where Superman is god and his minions beat down anyone who doesn”t comply. ‘Must There Be A Superman?” is an ode to my feelings about this movie. ‘New Rules” sounds like something Batman would growl before kicking Superman in the throat, which makes sense since the next track is titled ‘Do You Bleed?” Definitely two songs about titans of comics beating watch other up. ‘Problems Up Here” could be anything really but since the next track is ‘Black and Blue,” this is clearly the part of the film where Superman and Batman make up and join forces together against whatever shenanigans Luthor is up to. All of this is apparently happening on a ‘Tuesday.” Then Wonder Woman shows up for the last 10 minutes of the film if ‘Is She With You?” is any indication, followed by Superman declaring his protection of Earth with ‘This Is My World” and Batman becoming reinvigorated with ‘Men Are Still Good (The Batman Suite).”

Cue end credits.

There. I just saved you two hours and ten dollars.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
