‘Guardians Vol. 2’ teaser reminds us how much fun the first one was

Surprise! Director James Gunn has just debuted our first poster and first look for the Marvel sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

First thing's first:

That's so refreshing to hear. Not only that, but this is a decent-sized look at the new film Gunn has been hard at work on for months. For the last few weeks he's been speaking on the themes of the film, what he's tried to show more of, and even joined with Vin Diesel to get emotional about it.

While some footage of the film was showed to the crowd at Comic-Con this summer, this is the first look the public has gotten, and I have to say, it's got me excited. It hits all the right notes without giving anything away.

The teaser shows the main crew (plus Nebula and Yondu) but leaves out Pom Klementieff's Mantis and Elizabeth Debicki's Ayesha. I think we'll probably see them sooner rather than later while Kurt Russell's Ego and Sylvester Stallone's as-yet-unnamed character will be kept closer to the vest.

And here's the brand new poster which is looking like a classic album cover, which I love.

Even though Gunn made us INCREDIBLY UPSET with some Groot revelations, I can't help but scream for BABY GROOT.

And that TINY JACKET he's wearing in the teaser???? Dead of cute.
