TV Ratings: ‘Blue Bloods’ tops ABC’s ‘In an Instant’ debut to lead CBS Friday

Fast National ratings for Friday, March 6, 2015.

While ABC's “Shark Tank” was, as usual, Friday's top show among young viewers, both “Hawaii Five-0” and “Blue Bloods” beat ABC's special airing of “In an Instant” to help CBS dominate Friday overall and eke out a slim win among young viewers.

Mostly Friday was pretty flat, so let's just get to the numbers…

Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.3 rating for Friday night, edging out ABC's 1.2 rating and NBC's 1.1 rating in the key demographic. FOX was fourth with a 0.7 key demo rating, followed by The CW's 0.4 key demo rating for the night.

Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 8.99 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/10 share for Friday primetime. ABC Was second with 5.65 million viewers and a 3.6/6, followed by the 5.63 million viewers and 3.8/7 for NBC. FOX's 2.28 million viewers and 1.4/2 topped the 0.7/1 and 1.03 million viewers for The CW for the night.

8 p.m. – A special 8 p.m. airing of “Shark Tank” led the hour with 8.2 million viewers and a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49, easily beating the 6.16 million viewers and 1.2 key demo rating for CBS' “The Amazing Race.” NBC's “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” repeat averaged 4.18 million viewers and a 0.6 key demo rating, compared to the 2.76 million viewers and 0.8 key demo rating for FOX's “World's Funniest Fails.” The CW's “Hart of Dixie” averaged its regular 0.4 key demo rating and was on the low side with 1.12 million viewers.

9 p.m. – “Hawaii Five-0” was first for the 9 p.m. hour with 9.64 million viewers and finished second for the hour with a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's “Dateline” was second with 6.45 million viewers and won the hour with a 1.3 key demo rating. ABC's “In an Instant” was third with 4.63 million viewers and a 1.0 key demo rating. There was a big drop to the 1.81 million viewers and 0.6 key demo rating for FOX's “Glee” and then to the 935,000 viewers and 0.4 key demo rating for The CW's two “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” repeats.

10 p.m. – “Blue Bloods” delivered the night's biggest audience with 11.18 million viewers and also won the 10 p.m. hour with a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's “Dateline” averaged 6.27 million viewers and a 1.3 key demo rating, while ABC's “In an Instant,” which moves to Saturday next week, dropped to 4.13 million viewers and a 0.8 key demo rating.
