TV Ratings: ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ ‘Big Bang Theory’ split Thursday for FOX, CBS

On an incredibly slow summer Thursday, FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen” and a repeat of CBS’ “Big Bang Theory” helped carry their networks to wins among young adults and total viewers, respectively.

For the night, FOX averaged a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49, but only 3.82 million viewers overall. CBS did a 1.2 demo rating, but with 6.24 million viewers, followed by ABC (1.0, 4.6 million), NBC (0.7, 2.35 million) and the CW (0.3, 694,000).

8 p.m. — “Hell’s Kitchen” (2.0, 5.38 million) won the hour in demos, but a “Big Bang Theory” repeat (2.0, 7.87) from 8-8:30 edged it in demos and thumped it in total viewers. The combination of “BBT” and “Two and a Half Men” averaged a 1.7 and 6.96 million viewers, followed by ABC’s “Wipeout” (0.9, 3.7 million), a pair of “Parks and Recreation” reruns on NBC (0.6, 1.95 million) and a “Vampire Diaries” repeat on the CW (0.3, 799,000).

9 p.m. — A “Person of Interest” repeat on CBS (1.0, 6.48 million) led the hour in both measures, followed by ABC’s “Motive” (0.9, 5.02 million), FOX’s “Does Someone Have To Go?” (0.9, 2.27 million), an “Office” repeat on NBC (0.7, 1.73 million) and a “Beauty and the Beast” repeat on the CW (0.2, 588,000).

10 p.m. — ABC’s “Rookie Blue” (1.1, 5.09 million) narrowly won the hour in the demo, followed by an “Elementary” repeat on CBS (0.9, 5.29 million) and an “America’s Got Talent” repeat on NBC (0.9, 3.36 million).
