TV Ratings: ‘More to Love’ premiere soft for FOX

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, July 28, 2009.

FOX’s plus-sized dating show “More to Love” got off to a soft start on Tuesday night, though the network still eked out a win in the 18-49 demographic.

Among adults 18-49, FOX had a 2.6 rating, just ahead of the 2.5 rating for NBC. CBS was third in the coveted demographic with a 1.6 rating, topping the 1.5 rating for ABC. The CW’s 0.4 rating trailed.

Overall, though, NBC averaged an estimated 9.49 million viewers to go with a 6.0 rating/10 share, fare ahead of the 4.4/8 for second place CBS. ABC’s 3.4/6 and FOX’s 3.3/6 followed. The CW was fifth with a 0.8/1.

CBS started the night in first with a 6.2/11 for “NCIS.” An “America’s Got Talent” repeat was second for NBC with a 5.2/9. FOX’s “Hell’s Kitchen” finished third overall with a 4.0/7, but dominated the 18-49 demo with a 3.3 rating. ABC’s “The Bachelorette” repeat drew minimal enthusiasm. The CW was fifth with a 0.7/1 for “90210.”

NBC grabbed first at 9 p.m. with a 7.7/13 for “America’s Got Talent.” CBS was second with a 3.9/6 for “Big Brother.” FOX’s “More to Love” did a 2.7/4, averaging 4.23 million viewers and doing a 1.9 rating in the key demo. ABC’s “The Bachelorette” stayed fourth with a 2.7/4. The CW’s “Hitched or Ditched” was fifth. 

ABC moved into first at 10 p.m. with a “Bachelorette” reunion special doing a 5.3/9. NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” was second with a 4.9/9. CBS’ “Medium” trailed.
