David Guetta’s new single feature Akon has gotten the music video treatment, though in a family-friendly form.
Originally dubbed “Sexy Bitch,” the radio edit “Sexy Chick” features, as one would expect, lots of sexy bitches chicks, though disappointing no sole bitch chick singled out amongst the many.
Akon is inundated, as his usual sexy self frequently endures, the photographs of potential bitches suitors, inviting him to a pool party. He and the DJ hop in the water together, as do the throngs of bikini clad bitches arm-candies. The male-female ratio is astounding. Some nerds manage to work their way into the party. Good for them.
What I love about the video, and about Guetta in general, is that it’s about having a really good time. What I hate about the song, however, is that it interupts the groove to have a meta-moment, a temporary, self-conscious musing on the term “bitch.”
“She is nothing like a girl you’ve ever seen before nothing you can compare to your neighbourhood ho / I’m trying to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful,” sings Akon.
Dude: if you’re gonna refer to a club girl, or any ol’ girl, as a bitch, then just, well, own it. Don’t preface with a “shucks, this is probably gonna come off wrong, or politically incorrect, but please, indulge me.” I’m rarely a fan of the term myself, but I think we all know what you’re talking about.
