“I’ve never felt like a scary movie depends on the amount of blood spilled.”

Wes Craven may have an R rating for his new horror film “My Soul to Take,” but he doesn’t feel the need to push it, especially with the baby-faced teenaged cast and a story that’s “much more about a mystery and a coming of age” than a town’s psychotic serial killer.

The famed director sat down with HitFix to discuss the strengths of this cast, the role of bullying, how to direct teens and even revealed a little bit about “Scream 4” and its progress.

“My Soul to Take” features Max Thieriot, Emily Meade and Jessica Hecht and is out in theaters now.
