What new times and places should ‘Star Wars’ Animation explore? – She Said/She Said

She Said/She Said is a (sporadically) daily video featuring HitFix Harpy Donna Dickens and HitFix Weekend Editor Jill Pantozzi discussing current events in geek news.

Despite evidence to the contrary, the world of Star Wars is far more vast than the Skywalker family. From the Old Republic, to the dawn of the Rebellion, to the First Resistance, there are thousands of stories waiting to be told. We just need someone to tell them.

Someone like Dave Filoni.

If that name is familiar to you, it”s because Filoni has been an integral part of Lucasfilm for over eight years. His career began as a director of the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars before moving on to direct, write, and eventually executive produce the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The man has had a large hand in helping shape the way the galaxy looks outside of the live-action entries to the franchise. So fans were understandably upset when the credits for Star Wars Rebels third season sawn Filoni removed as Supervising Director.

Big Shiny Robot reached out to Lucasfilm to get the scoop, and what a scoop it was. Filoni wasn”t stepping down, but stepping up to head all of the Lucasfilm animation department. There”s only one issue: Rebels is currently the extent of said department. Using the powers of deduction, that means we”re in for even more stories in the future!

In the video above, HitFix Harpy's Donna Dickens and Jill Pantozzi get a little too excited about what this could mean for fans of a galaxy far, far away.
