Why is this guy running for his life in the new ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ trailer?

Despite a looming premiere date – August of 2015 – we still don”t know that much about AMC”s zombie spin-off “Fear The Walking Dead.” This new trailer isn't helping much.

What do we know? We know the show takes place in Los Angeles at the beginning of the outbreak. We know the cast includes single mom named Madison (Kim Dickens) raising two teenagers and her boyfriend Travis (Cliff Curtis), who is hiding a dark past. We know one of those children is overachiever Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and that one of them is problem child Nick (Frank Dillane).

And it's Nick who appears in the “Fear The Walking Dead” trailer above. Instinctively, we the audience are supposed to believe Nick is on the run from walkers. The clip is even entitled “Nick”s Escape.” But could this be a fake-out?

I mean sure, it IS the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Humans might not know yet to slowly saunter away from the shambling dead to conserve your energy. But Nick is fleeing from a window in a dilapidated part of town, barely dressed. His jeans are only half up and he is still in the process of putting on his shirt as he flees the scene. This seems less like a panicked flight from walkers and more typical of a surprise angry husband catching his wife in the midst of cheating on him.

Which – based on what little information is available – seems completely in keeping with Nick”s character.

I suppose will have to wait until this fall to find out!
