Will Arnett is reuniting with “Arrested Development” creator Mitch Hurwitz and writer/producer Jim Vallely on a new FOX comedy project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, FOX had given a script commitment to an untitled single camera comedy written by Hurwitz, Arnett and Vallely.

The project would star Arnett as a arrogant Beverly Hills fop who falls for a tree-hugging hippy and has to mend his ways or, at the very least, pretend to change. The comedy is set up through Sony TV and Tantamount, the shingle run by Hurwitz, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum.

FOX signed Arnett to a development deal back in October and this is the first potential project to arise from that agreement.

Arnett most recently worked with Hurwitz on the animated “Sit Down, Shut Up,” which premiered this spring to dismal ratings and dismal reviews. The reviews, at least, were certainly better for the duo in their three years collaborating on “Arrested Development.”

After picking up his first Emmy nomination in 2006 for “Arrested Development,” Arnett earned a second nod two years later for his guest turn on NBC’s “30 Rock.” On the big screen, Arnett’s credits include this summer’s “G-Force,” as well as the upcoming “When in Rome” and “Jonah Hex.”
