‘Wolf of Wall Street’s’ Margot Robbie circling ‘Ghost in the Shell’ adaptation

Margot Robbie is looking to capture the fanboy demo.

The “Wolf of Wall Street” star is in “early talks” for Dreamworks' brewing live-action “Ghost in the Shell” adaptation, according to Deadline. Director Rupert Sanders (“Snow White and the Huntsman”) is already on board for the film, which was written by Bill Wheeler.

Set in the mid-21st century, “Ghost in the Shell” centers on a counter-cyberterrorist organization known as Public Security Section 9 and its cyborg leader Major Motoko Kusanagi (a role that would presumably be played by Robbie, though that detail has not been confirmed). The Masamune Shirow-created comic book series began in 1989 and has since become a multi-media franchise, branching out into animated films and video games.

Robbie's upcoming films include “Focus” opposite Will Smith, “Suite Francaise” co-starring Michelle Williams and Sam Riley, “Z for Zachariah” with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor and the “Tarzan” reboot opposite Alexander Skarsgard.

Do you think Robbie is a good choice for “Ghost in the Shell”? Let us know in the comments.
