Woody Allen has landed Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins for his new film.
According to Variety, Brolin and Hopkins will merely topline the ensemble for Allen’s latest project, which will mark the director’s return to London after the Oscar nominated “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and the New York-based “Whatever Works.”
Don’t bother asking for details on the new Allen pic, though. The trade paper can’t offer a title or even some hint as to whether or not it will be a comedy.
Financing comes through Spain’s Mediapro, while Letty Aronson and Steve Tenenbaum are producing.
Brolin earned his first Oscar nomination for this fall’s “Milk.” The “No Country For Old Men” star will next play the title role in the Warner Brothers adaptation of the DC Comics series “Jonah Hex.” Brolin previously appeared in Allen’s “Melinda and Melinda.”
Hopkins was last seen in animated form in “Beowulf” and in live-action form in “Fracture.” The Oscar winner most recently completed work on “The Wolf Man.”
