Fun with Peter King will be along shortly. Meantime, that’s no way to get ahead in life, DeSean.
All that was missing from that clip was Chris Tucker informing him he got knocked the fuck out.
My head hurts just watching that.
There was similar hit in another game on a kickoff return. I was too drunk to remember which one, but it was vicious.
How Concernicus was DeSean #10 body paint guy?
Head shots are awesome.
In porn, too.
that shouldn’t have been a penalty. it was kolb’s fault for leading him into that. it wasn’t head to head, it was a hard hit to make a play.
Good thing they were wearing their breast cancer awareness stuff. I’m sure the chicks watching cared a lot more because of it.
DeSean wouldn’t want to besmirch the integrity of the game and breast cancer awareness as well.
Helllloooo owning Maclin
Whatever you call it, it was awful form from the DB. Lowering your head like that is illegal, and it should be for this reason.
/owns Maclin in fantasy and was going up against DeSean Jackson this week.
That’s not the time to lose one’s head.
You could say he was headstrong.
I hate when you see this hard of a hit and the Eagles are involved because one of these poor bastards will end up married to Kathy Lee.
I’m ready for the broad-jump coach!
Almost as bad as James Harrison ramming his head into everything that moved yesterday. Fucking ‘roid rage asshole.
The Falcons better also get hit with a FINE!
James Harrison needs something done about that. There were a lot of head hits yesterday, but he had multiple on Browns receivers. Not saying it was intentional, but damn.
Sixty-nine is devine!
Lucky break for the falcons, he was on pace to score 8 TDs yesterday.
But seriously, I was surprised Andy Reid didn’t put him back out there in the next series.
I heard James Harrison was upset that he was only able to land dirty hits on Josh Cribbs and Mohammed Massoquoi.
All he needed was one more cheap shot on Chansi Stuckey, and he’d have been able to collect the whole set of concussed Browns WRs.
I have seen many de-cleater but never a de-panter….wow.
How about Russell Okung handling Julius Peppers solo yesterday? How about some props for the NFC West (except the niners)?
i heard he asked them why he was being taken off the field… so his brain is probably fucked up. And he asked them why he was being taken off the field… so his brain is probably fucked up.
Lame… Legal hit, at least it should’ve been. That was not helmet-to-helmet. Jackson had the ball. DB hits him hard to make a play. Knocked the ball loose, saved the first down from being given up. Look, no one wants to see injuries but hits like these are a necessity in football. We should do all we can for player safety i.e. NFL mandated helmets and mouth guards, which prevent concussions. But if you take away the defenses ability to dislodge the ball from the receiver, you start making it flag football.
PS James Harrison’s hits were legal. Helmet to helmet on runner is allowed. The second hit was not helmet to helmet.
Hey, zeke. YOU CAN’T LEAD WITH YOUR HELMET.
Clean hit. Lofty hit.
It wasn’t necessarily “legal”, but Dunta Robinson hits HARD for a corner (albeit a 5’10”, 175 pound one)… one of my favorite players. This isn’t the first time he’s obliterated a guy (see Reggie Wayne)
Now who will be my anti-drug?
I’m tired of this its a tough game argument against damn near killing guys. The league needs to change plays like that Robinson didn’t do anything wrong
besides not have a conscious
Zeke, I was in agreement with you at first, but on the replay, Robinson lowers his head and that’s his problem. A) He’s been coached all his life to see what he hits–i.e., keep your head up; B) he’s damn lucky he’s not paralyzed. That said, if he kept his head up and destroys Jackson with his shoulder and jars the ball loose, then that’s a good play. As you said, it has to be. The fault is on Kolb who served Jackson up like a piece of raw meat.
@Otto: it’s the go-to reference. /gets ready for the 100m dash, plows into cheerleaders.
Imagine if Harrison had done it to an NFC West team. Nate Newton’s Van would have fodder for lame hate for weeks and weeks.
/Cowboys lost again
Harrison’s hit on Cribbs was helmet-to-helmet and probably dirty. Cribbs was held up but still trying to advance. Can’t blame him for making the hit, but probably could have avoided the helmet. The one on Massaquoi is the same deal as the DeSean hit. Harrison led with the shoulder and couldn’t really have hit him any other way on that play. He’ll be fined for one or both and that’s that.
1) I had to rewind a couple times to see if #10 bodypaint guy had painted pants as well.
2) Did anyone catch the NBC segment exploring why Tony Dungy is perfect?
3) I liked Rodney harrison’s comment that, to a guy making a million a year, a $10k fine is nothing.
^ Steelers homerism ftw
Goddamn it drave
Stupid comment and terrible execution. You do Welkah proud.
And how was it homerism? I admitted the Cribbs shot was dirty. Oh yeah, anything that isn’t joining the chorus of RARRRR DIRTY EVIL STILLERS WINNING FUCK THEM is homerism. Got it.
He’ll be fined for one or both and that’s that.
Well according to Mr. Upstanding Former Player of the Century, Rodney HGHarrison, players should get suspended for helmet to helmet hits so they take it more seriously. I mean who doesn’t have $50,000 saved up just to pay for your annual league fines? We should definitely listen to a man of reason who never hit anyone in the helmet during his whole career right?
Here’s a thought, let them all play without helmets. Then we’ll see how many players try to tackle a player’s body instead of trying to make TWWL’s highlight reel.
So dudebro, what about the helmet-to-helmet shot on Todd Heap yesterday? THAT’S JUST GRITTY FACKIN PATS DEFENSE, right?
When reached for comment, DeSean said, ” I’m just glad we won the game 31-potato”
so i would hate kevin kolb for leaving d-jax out to dry there and thus screwing a huge day for my fantasy team (not that two TDs is bad), but kolb actually had a huge day for my fantasy team and actually outplayed my opponent’s Philip “Dick Face” Rivers.
Nah, that was a vicious hit and completely stupid, which is pretty typical of Meriweather.
Don’t get so mad, ape! Keep your head about you!
Come on, Ape. You’re supposse to set an example around here. You can’t just be jumping in and acting all Homer-y everytime someone takes a shot at the Steelers. You’re better than that.
Homerism is pursuing the comments of a humor site dedicated solely to the NFL, detecting a jab at your team and/or players, and defending them.
As for the dude wanting NFC West love, WTF? Should we celebrate they have achieved mediocrity?
RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE
Fine, I defended the one play on Massaquoi. That’s all. Make fun of the Stillers all you want. I’ll leave you to your rageboners.
We still love you, Ape.
That’s gonna leave a mark…
I’m no expert, but it seems like trying to stop a guy with your head is a recipe for paraplegia.
Turkey leg otter dong,
Robinson led with his helmet, whcih should be a suspension.. Same deal with Merriweather. I’m pissed it led to refs getting jumpy and calling a 15-yarder on the Jets’ Jim Leonhard because on a high but clean tackle they wrongly thought he led with his helmet later that day. If you suspend guys for leading with their helmets, it will stop. It’s lousy technique anyway.
It’s pretty easy to go “RAH BLAH DON’T TURN IT INTO FLAG FOOTBALL YOU PUSSY!!!!1” until you watch some poor Rutgers schmuck walk on the field a manbeast and be rolled off it a quadriplegic. I don’t fault Roosevelt for forcing the incorporation of the forward pass, and I wouldn’t fault a more modern leader trying to stop this from happening.
