@Lord Revisisle – I love how TWWL keeps referring to Carson Palmer as a “big time quarterback”. Have they not watched him play the last few years? The guy has been terrible. I wouldn’t give up a 4th rounder for him, much less a 1st and a 1st or 2nd.
Q: What’s sadder about the Raider fan’s outfit in the first picture — the fact that he has an iron-on patch celebrating the team’s AFC West title eleven years ago, or the fact that he has a patch honoring “CHiPs” for some reason?
A: Neither. The saddest thing is that he wears that he’s an allegedly grown man in a shitty Halloween costume and Darth Maul face paint.
@UCL @Lord Revisisle- I’m really glad that other people are acknowledging that this is a terrible trade. I keep reading “BLOCKBUSTER DEAL!” and it makes me feel like I woke up in an alternate universe. Carson Palmer is terrible and has been for years. He is probably a slight improvement on Campbell. Definitely not worth 2 first rounders.
Also, Apparently Oakland is talking about trading Darren McFadden to the Jets for Plaxico and picks. If that happens, then I will reject this reality.
It pains me to say it, but can we get Mike Brown a nomination for Meast of the Week? He went from egotistical stubborn prick to brilliant personnel strategist in 24 hours, thanks to the Undead Head of Al Davis instructing his Raider minions to trade for Carson Palmer at any cost.
I think we have to wait & see what Brown does with those picks before we start giving him accolades.
He might have won the figurative trade lottery, but he can still squander the winnings.
I’m surprised the Raiders didn’t go for Silky, basically in the same boat as Palmer, but they should have got him at a lower price than trading away their top picks for the next two years. In all seriousness, this trade seems to come at too high a price to be worthwhile, even if they do go to the postseason.
Garrett: No, Romo, I said “stercus” – not “stercus”, you uneducated plebe! Don’t you know your fourth declension nouns? Genitive singular for screen passes to Dez, nominative singular for screen passes to Ogletree, and accusative plural for screen passes to Witten! My god! Where did you go to school, BROWN?
They got a 1st and 2nd for Palmer, the Donks GAVE away B-LLoyd for a 6th, that’s just fucking great. I think Palmer is an upgrade, but more like one 2nd or 3rd pick of an upgrade (quarterback position inflation included).
