There was a bit of a standoff between Anquan Boldin and the Ravens about the receiver taking a pay cut. Boldin wasn’t having it, so Baltimore has shipped him back to the NFC West from whence he came in exchange for a sixth-round pick. That’s probably less than Boldin is worth, but given that the team was probably going to release him anyway, compensation of any kind has to be considered something of a victory.
Boldin will now occupy Randy Moss’ role as the 49ers’ old man receiver. Most likely he’ll be able to perform it better than Moss running on fumes. That is, should his charity work in Africa keep him from passing a physical.
The #49ers trade for Anquan Boldin won’t be official until he passes a physical… which won’t be today. He’s in Africa on charity
