Once you see reports like “Montee Ball getting special attention from Peyton Manning” you know that means trouble for every other running back on the Broncos roster. Especially injured ones like Willis McGahee, who is coming off the latest of many devastating leg injuries in his career. McGahee had been having a fairly productive 2012 campaign, having amassed 731 rushing yards when he down with a torn MCL in Denver’s Week 11 games against San Diego. Of course, he also had a knack for fumbling in key situations, such as late in the Broncos loss to the Patriots.
So look for Ball, the running back drafted in the second round out of Wisconsin, to be a candidate for this year’s most overhyped fantasy sleeper, to the point that he will be taken way too early in quite a few drafts.
