It’s nice when a fan base conforms to basic regional stereotypes. It gives me the false impression that I have a handle on the world without really trying. In this case, it’s Vikings fans being celebratory in the most blandly Midwestern way imaginable. Way to Viking fans it up, you guys.
Mankato residents are just thrilled that their town has hosted Vikings training camp for 50 years now. No better way to mark the occasion than by having a wide assortment of locals mumble-sing through a send-up of Lee Brice’s “Parking Lot Party”. The Favre and Percy Harvin jerseys are a nice touch, but it’s the monotone deliveries and ample awkwardness that do it for me.
