The Patriots got a taste of their own medicine by being the victim of some obscure bullshit rule that cost them the game against the Jets. In overtime, the Jets were driving then once they got to the very absolute edge of field goal range got hyperconservative and decided to settle for a 56-yard field goal attempt by Nick Folk. That attempt was laughably off course, but then New England’s Chris Jones was flagged for a personal foul for pushing his own teammate into the pile.
The penalty got the Jets a first down and 15 yards closer. Three plays later, Nick Folk hit a 42-yarder give New York the win.
