The Sean Taylor Memorial Meast for Week 4 is Drew Brees and his 10th career 400-yard game. Brees also became only the seventh quarterback in league history to pass for more than 47,000 yards and safely moved ahead of John Elway into fourth place on the career passing leaders board in his ninth consecutive Monday Night Football win. Hate to praise GLORY BOY quarterbacks, but watching Brees on Monday night in New Orleans is the closest thing the NFL has to a rock god, albeit a more arena rock, Boston or Asia-type rock god.
Also receiving consideration: Adrian Peterson, Tony Gonzalez, Peyton Manning, Frank Gore, Robert Mathis, NaVorro Bowman, Reggie Bush and Tiny Darren Sproles.
The Jeff George Memorial Least for Week 4 is Joe Flacco. One GLORY BOY quarterback giveth, another GLORY BOY taketh away. A career worst five interceptions and 50% completion percentage is ugly, especially when you consider the pounding Flacco took, eating turf for four sacks during the Ravens 20-23 loss to the plucky Bills. With 2:20 left in the game, the Raven’s final drive saw Flacco sacked for a loss of eight yards on first down, two incompletions before all hope was lost when the Super Bowl champ tried to find Dallas Clark over the middle and had the ball deflected into the hands of linebacker Kiko Alonso with about a minute left on the clock. That’s a terrible final push for an elite quarterback just to tie the game. Terrible. At least Flacco had the sense to say in the post-game press conference he was, “throwing the ball to the wrong team.”
Also receiving consideration: Ben Roethlisberger, Geno Smith, Terrance Williams, Ray Rice and all of Duval County.
