It’s Kyle Orton to the rescue. No chance for Romobyl with Tony going in for back surgery at the end of the week. Luckily, there’s Ortonmania to console us. There’s little expectation for Dallas to win counting on Orton behind Monte Kiffin’s dogshit defense, but if Kyle Orton does keep the Cowboys hanging on against a superior Eagles team, it’s the rare situation where Dallas would do well and it would be hilarious.
Though for Orton to even have a chance, it’s incumbent on the Dallas defense. With Sean Lee going down with injury to miss the remainder of the season, it doesn’t seem likely for the Cowboys to deter the Eagles attack, though that did somehow happen when the teams met the first time in Week 7 when Dallas held the Eagles to their lowest point total of the season.
Could that happen again? Does old-ass Monte Kiffin have the key to beating Chip Kelly? On both accounts, no. Following another single-digit point output the in Week 8 against the Giants, Philly’s offense has taken off. They’ve been playing too well to get shut down like that again. Dallas could win, but they’re somehow gonna have to come up with a point total in the 30s to do it.
