Never let it said that the NFL will ever keep a good man down once they have been — at least in the league’s eyes — properly punished for their transgressions against The Shield. Except in this case it’s Gregggggg Williams, who probably isn’t a good man and somehow sitting out a year and then being a special assistant senior sherpa advisory Yoda defensive coach for the Titans doesn’t seem like much punishment for a man who managed to bring down the Saints with Bountygate.
Nonetheless, time has been served and according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Williams has been hired by the St. Louis Rams to be their defensive coordinator after releasing Tim Walton earlier in the day, a job he had just been hired for when the Ginger Hammer decided to make Williams the patsy back in 2012.
Just remember, “A mind troubled by doubt, cannot focus on victory.” That’s some serious zen master coaching. As is, “Kill the head, and the body will die” when talking about Niners running back, Frank Gore.
Have fun in St. Louis, Gregggggg. Fans will notice you are there after the next Cardinals season ends.
