On the day that the Broncos announced team-imposed suspensions for the DUI arrests of personnel executives Tom Heckert and Matt Russell, the team revealed that one of its players, second-year lineman Quentin Saulsberry, was busted for a DUI back in May.
Saulsberry, 24, was arrested May 19 and charged with a lane usage violation and as well as DUI. He is scheduled to be in Arapahoe County Court on Aug. 19.
“We have been aware of Quentin Saulsberry’s arrest and will continue to monitor the legal developments related to this matter, which is subject to review under the NFL’s policies,” Broncos spokesperson Patrick Smyth said Monday.
Heckert’s arrest took place in June, a month before the team bothered to divulge the news to the public. Saulsberry’s happened even before that. From this we can glean that the Broncos are pretty good at burying bad news and that we’ll keep getting leaks of old DUIs each week through the end of the summer.
