Responding to recent reports that Dan Marino would join 14 other former NFL players to file suit against the NFL over concussions, Dan Marino today slammed the lawsuit, calling the claims “unfounded” and predicting that a judge would swiftly dismiss the case.
“Dan Marino would never have filed this lawsuit had he not lost his gig with CBS a few months back,” Marino said in a statement. “This lawsuit smacks of opportunism.”
Pressed later by reporters, Marino declined to elaborate further on his comments.
“I feel that this issue has become a distraction, and I would like to concentrate my energies on my partnership with Zubaz,” he said. “I also think we need to be focused on bringing the Vince Lombardi trophy back to Miami and the best fans in the NFL in Super Bowl XXIII, and I think our team has the tools to do that this upcoming season.”
“Silly cabin haystack carburetor,” he added.
