Going into the Hall of Fame Game, most speculated that starters would only get one drive of action. But Eli Manning was still playing into the Giants’ third offensive drive, because their first possession went for a three-and-out and their second resulted in Kyle Williams stripping Eli Manning for a fumble that was recovered by Buffalo.
After the Bills got on the board first with a resulting field goal, Eli came back out for the Giants’ third drive. That ended with a rushing touchdown, albeit against some of the Bills reserves on defense.
Ultimately, the Hall of Fame Game was a smashing success because it gave us an Eli turnover in the limited window that one could occur. What else should we expect? That Eli Manning is just a crowd pleaser.
