Something as simple as a trade for a backup Runslinger isn’t too much for the Jets to screw up. This is the Jets we’re talking about, after all. So even though we’ve had a day of fun envisioning the craziness of Tim Tebow and Rex Ryan coexisting, the trade could be in jeopardy because the Jets are balking at a clause that would require them to pay $5 million-plus back to the Broncos in advanced salaries already paid to Tebow. That clause was in the original trade agreement – it’s apparently what kept the Jaguars from pursuing a deal – but the Jets, being the Jets, just didn’t bother to read all the terms of the deal before agreeing to it.
What we have here is truly a clusterf*ck of epic proportions. It’s also why this continues to be the best off-season ever.
Moreover, if the Jets don’t get Teebs, who will work as Jesus’ agent in the fight against pottymouths?
We’ll see if Tim Tebow can help Rex Ryan with his language? I know he welcomes the challenge!
