Well, the era of Hoyer The Destroyer in Cleveland is probably over.

Hoyer struggled again against the Bills today, and was benched in the 4th quarter after throwing his second interception of the game, both by Da’Norris Searcy. In his last two games, Hoyer has no touchdown passes and five picks.

Johnny Manziel came in, and was actually fairly promising. On his first drive, he quickly marhced the Browns down the field for a touchdown, which Manziel would take in himself on a 10-yard scamper.

His second drive was considerably less impressive, as the Browns would turn the ball over on downs. Even worse, Manziel nearly had a fumble returned for a touchdown, until the call was reversed and ruled an incomplete pass. Also, it looked like he died for a second.

Still, based on Manziel’s impressive touchdown drive, and the general crappiness of Hoyer over the last few weeks, it would be surprising if Mike Pettine didn’t give the starting job to Manziel for the remainder of the season.

A sad day for the citizens of Hoyer Country to be sure.
