A coyote stumbles upon freshly killed prey. “Hey,” the anthropomorphized coyote thinks, “this looks unclaimed. There is just a bunch of stupid birds pecking at it. No harm in taking a couple bites.” That’s when a pack of pissed-off wolves emerges. Good rule of thumb: always assume dead big game is the property of nearby wolves or prepare to be chased and then killed. Coyote had to learn the hard way.
Also consider this a metaphor for office break room refrigerators.
