And I know this Redditor agrees with me. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy tweets. I even enjoy posting them from time to time (see above). What I don’t like is SportsCenter creating controversy out of crap like this. I don’t care what Teddy Bruschi thinks of some benign tweet from Ochocinco, and I certainly don’t need to hear Cris Carter pontificating on how Chad should spend more time working on his craft and less time tweeting (just a guess on my part).
Show extended highlight packages mixed in with some actual analysis and we’ll be all set. Thanks.
Broncos fans are morons with money to burn. Eight “die hard” Broncos fans were planning on spending $10,000 on a road trip to Indianapolis, but instead they’re going to pay for a billboard expressing their displeasure with quarterback Kyle Orton. I’m mostly amazed that they stumbled upon a bigger waste of money than a road trip to Indianapolis. The group’s de facto leader explains exactly why they are so bummed, “We’ve always talked about when we’re going to another Super Bowl,” Oaks says. “Now we’re just talking about going 8-8. As Broncos fans, we’re not used to that.”
It’s worth mentioning that the guy was about 9 years old when this episode aired. [The Huddle]
Doing PR for a football team can’t be very fun. While meeting with the media after practice this week, Tom Brady jokingly suggested that fans “start drinking early” in anticipation of their late kickoff against San Diego. Brady smiled, the media gangbang chuckled, and the front office immediately imagined 75,000 Tommy’s drinking Red Bull and vodkas out of CamelBaks for 6 straight hours. That’s why the team’s office of PR felt the need to clarify Brady’s statement. You see, he meant that fans should be sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Which is why he laughed. Hydration is crazy funny. [Shutdown Corner]
Chris McCallister is broke. Normally I’d just leave this alone, but TMZ has a pretty fantastic URL on the story. Harsh stuff, guys. [TMZ]
REMINDER: Football Life, the new show with a miked up Bill Belichick, is airing tonight on the NFL Network. I’d recommend watching. Here’s a preview.
