Ndamukong Suh hasn’t done anything bad for a while. Recently, Lions center Dominic Raiola had taken up the crown of “Dirty cheap Lions player” but his suspension this week meant someone had to pick up the slack. Suh eagerly complied and on a play late in the game, after Rodgers had come back from a brief injury scare. Rodgers goes down after a pass play and lies on the ground, then Suh backs up onto Rodgers’ leg and stands there for a second and Rodgers squirms and hits him in the butt trying to get him off. Of course Rodgers would hit him in the butt. He can’t resist that butt. Or any butt. I can’t believe Rodgers hasn’t ran into another man’s butt yet.
It’s honestly hard to tell how intentional the step was. The slo-mo version makes it look horribly deliberate, but the real time version doesn’t look so bad. Suh never looks down or back at Rodgers, he keeps his head forwards. He never grinds his foot like Raiola did. But it’s hard to believe you can just casually stand on someone without noticing and the fact that he never looks down in surprise or seems to give an apology is almost as damning as it could be used to argue for him. Suh hasn’t exactly earned our good faith over the years on these plays, and with his free agency impending it’s very likely he’s going to have this final act hurt his potential earnings once he goes shopping.
