NFL Network Is Running A Nine-Hour Block Of Training Camp Coverage

And I couldn’t be more excited. The Saints training camp starts today. The Cardinals’ camp is already underway. The Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Broncos, Packers and Patriots begin tomorrow. Ooooooooh yes, this is really happening.

To mark the occasion, NFL Network is running a nine-hour block of coverage on Wednesday, which presumably will be almost entirely live shots of players lugging their stuff into stuffy college dorms. Portable fans! Canvas bags! Team-issued iPads that they don’t remember to recharge! Nine hours might be a little excessive, but I don’t care. Also, what else is NFLN supposed to do? Continue to run “The Top 10 Most Controversial Extra Points” on loop? This is the kind of oversaturation that they were meant for. Bring it on, I say.

I’ll have it on most of the day as a bright, shining reminder that NFL football creeps ever closer. What was once an imperceptible dot on the horizon is gradually becoming something charging hard in the offing that makes me wet my pants in a mixture of terror and glee.
