No Michael Vick, no LeSean McCoy and two teams with not a whole lot to play for, save the wounded pride of Cam Newton. Not recommended for the casual fan looking for things like “fun” or “good games”. Though if one wishes to experience the rare sensation of looking forward to a Thursday night game, tonight’s contest will provide just that.
Otherwise, it’s Nick Foles first shot at starting in front of a home crowd that had been mostly eagerly anticipating his rise to being the next Kevin Kolb. It should be interesting to see how much of a grace period he gets before the Philly fans turn on him. If nothing else, a Panthers victory should entail quite a few creatively vicious chants against Andy Reid and that’s always fun.
Tirico: Eagles fans have been spoiled over the success this team has enjoyed.

Yes, Iggles fans. Why don’t you heed Tirico’s trollish point? You should be more appreciative of conference title game defeats and back-to-back years of missing the playoffs. It could be so much worse. You could not be winning Super Bowls in much more devastating ways.
