The Rams lost to the Titans on Sunday, which was enough to set St. Louis defensive end William Hayes over the edge. Entering the locker room postgame, Hayes lost his cool and proceeded to go smashy-smashy on a mirror.
He added: “The mirror was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mhmm. Sure. Blame the victim.
I kind of took it a little overboard. Emotions came out and got the best of me.”
Hayes said it never crossed his mind when he struck the mirror that he might get hurt.
“I was in a whole ’nother mindset,” he said. “I got stitches in my arm, but I’m fine now.”
We’ve all experienced moments of blinding rage when mindless and immediate destruction provides the only catharsis. Okay, let me not speak for everyone. But I’ve been there. Thankfully I’m too much of a wuss to punch a mirror.
