Oh hey, it’s March. It’s the month that means more than awful late-season snow storms and municipalities that run out of salt. It’s more than just interminable internet pop culture brackets. For us, it’s that time of the NFL year when we have to watch old, loved dogs get taken out back behind the shed. The latest in this series of already-prepared-team-press-releases is Reggie Wayne, who won’t be re-signed by the Colts after 14 years with the team. Having come back from an ACL injury that sidelined him in 2013, Wayne posted declining numbers in 2014, and needed triceps surgery in the offseason. The best guess is that he’ll try to latch on with another team, and those fans will foolishly purchase his jersey thinking he’s going to be around longer than a year (See: Cardinals’ Emmitt Smith). The Colts team site already has a prepared tribute video here, if you’re interested.
