Yup, that’s a group of Ravens fans from today. Baltimore is a trash city with trash people. What are you gonna do?
The Steelers got the benefit of a questionable roughing the passer call early in the opening drive. That enabled them to move the ball far enough to be able to convert a 3rd and long at the edge of field goal range. In the process, Antonio Brown took a hit to the head and was taken to back to the locker room, though he eventually returned midway through the second quarter. The Steelers were on the verge of taking the lead when Justin Brown fumbled inside the 20, wasting an eight minute drive.
Ravens counter with their own long plodding drive. A long pass interference penalty on Cortez Allen put Baltimore inside the 5. Two plays later, Joe Flacco hit the play action to get Owen Daniels wide open at the back of the end zone for the opening score. SNAKE DICK LIVES!
Roethlisberger missed terribly an open receiver on a 3rd and 1 play that might have set up a scoring drive. That gave way to a Ravens possession that ends in a field goal that extends the Baltimore lead to 10-0.
The following drive, Pittsburgh returned to the redzone. They didn’t turn it over this time but they didn’t get into the end zone, either, thanks to Todd Haley trying a 3rd and 4 sweep with Antonio Brown form the right hashmark toward the right side. That didn’t work and Pittsburgh settled for a field goal to get on the board.
The Ravens had the ball back with 2:40 to go in the half and proceeded to go three and out while only burning about 50 seconds. That would seem to set up the Steelers but as far as they got the final drive before half was just barely into Ravens territory before punting the ball away so Flacco could take a knee.
