The new Falcons stadium scheduled to open for the 2017 season is currently in the design phase, but the two most feasible proposals submitted to the Georgia World Congress Center have a number of interesting innovations. Above, there’s the otherworldly design submitted by 360 Architecture, which includes a retractable roof that looks like a clenched butthole of one of those Pacific Rim robots.

Gonzo architecture is one thing. Sure it’s nice to have, but only quarterback-architects like Andrew Luck really appreciate it. However, seats that vibrate when players concuss each other on the field? Now we’re talking real progress.

At long last, NFL stadiums have caught up with the technological advancements of the Nintendo 64.
